Report: We started off the day hoping to strike gold with the fish on the troll, but after 3 solid hours of only 3 bites and a empty cooler, we decided we better try some bottom fishing! Mark and Trey joined us on this trip and we were able to accomplish a couple of "First" today. Treys' first offshore fishing trip and what a mate he was. We had hoped to put the guys on some quality fish off the troll, but we just couldn't make things happen. We decided to put the trolling rods up an bust out the bottom rods. We rigged up w/ frozen squid and waited for Chris to put us on the spot. The bottom fish were really chewing today. Football sized Vermillion Snapper(B-Liners) were first to show, then some nice sized Pink Snapper(Pinky's) showed up next. Then it happened...Mark went to battle w/ the true ruler of the bottom..the mighty Grouper. Mark lost a couple of battles, but won the war by boating his first ever Grouper!!! Not to be out done, Trey quickly followed suit by boating a Grouper himself. Craig quickly showed them how a reel pro does it by not only boating a Grouper but a nice sized Snapper all at the same time on 1 rod! Chad got the best of the largest Amberjack we have ever caught which was estimated at 40lbs. Finally tally of the day: 10 B-Liners 5 Pinky's 3 Grouper 1 Mutton Snapper 1 Amberjack

Like a lake out there...
