Sunday, February 13, 2005 - The Word of the Day is...S-L-O-W Back
Seas: 1-2    Water Temp: 68-72°F Crew: Chris, Chad, & Craig
Moon:     Location: Mayport-Ledge
Species:   Category:
Report:

To call it SLOW would be an understatement. We left the docks just before 6 AM with high hopes. February in Northeast Florida is Wahoo time and with the boat recently repaired we had high hopes. We were greeted with smooth seas (no pun intended), but a chilly 45 degree temperature, glad we had the cold weather enclosure up, it paid for itself this morning. Once we hit 72 degree water (155 feet) we put out the lines, we pulled mostly bait with mixed in lures. We trolled out to 1,000 feet and never got a strike. All day we looked for clean water or a temperature break, but just never found it. During the day we only heard of 2 Wahoo being caught, sounded slow for everyone. We trolled until 2 PM and then decided to call it a day, we hit the docks at 3:45 and had the boat cleaned and put away by 6:30.
It was a great day on the water and it was nice to have the boat running good, but the fishing was S-L-O-W.
