Smooth C's is a play on words. Being that all our first names (Chris, Chad, & Craig) all start with the letter 'C' we decided to name the boat and to play off of the letter C...as in sea. When going offshore you are always wishful for smooth seas...that is how the boat got its name Smooth C's. Enjoy the site!

Report:
After a month of wind blowing we decided to run out for a few hours of bottom bumping. On the way out we were concerned we'd made a bad decision. The wing was gusting 15+ from the North and we were taking it on the button, but the boat ate it up at 43 mph into 3' head sea. Upon arrival, the water was substantially cooler and it made the fish bite slow. We ended up catchng dozens of 19 3/4 inch snapper and to many 23 inch gouper, probably 30 grouper in all. We did manage 2 keeper snappper. Around noon, we wanted to move to a new spot, but soon realized our anchor chain was hung on the bottom and after an hour of trying to dislodge it, we cut the line. The seas subsided nicely to a gentle 2', but power drifting wasn't working, the fish were just to slow and we would be off the spot before a good bite. We turn towards the house around 2 and were cleaned up and home by 4.
